Hello. I’m Rich Cole. I’m an art director, graphic designer, events coordinator, and social media manager with nearly 20 years experience in communications, marketing, and publishing.
From 2006–2012, I was a designer at The University of Chicago. While with their in-house creative group, Chicago Creative Communications (3C), the goal was to elevate the brand of the university through smart, thoughtful communications that focused on the unique intellectual experience that one has while being part of a rich academic community. As senior graphic designer, my work was diverse. I was given the freedom to garner and maintain client relationships, hire and mentor fellow designers, and help foster brilliant ideas into reality through teams of designers, writers, editors, and programmers. Prior to 3C, I was a designer at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where we created and maintained a top brand for one of the most sought-after MBA programs in the world.
My background also includes an eight-year career in publishing. I've produced everything from monthly publications and magazines to marketing communications, trade show displays, annual reports, and promotions.
And finally, I'm highly involved in Chicago's music scene. I'm a local DJ, but I also consult on promoting events, social media campaigns, and marketing. I've done everything from performing at clubs, weddings, and festivals to fundraising management, event promotion, and venue communications.
